Mivumoni parish lies inland of the A14 highway from Mombasa to Lunga Lunga and the Tanzanian border. There's not a tarmac road in the parish, so the roads I've travelled with Fr Joe are shown in orange - very similar to the sand/murram of the roads themselves.
The parish consists of 7 churches as shown on the map below. Mass is celebrated at 2 churches each Sunday in rotation, in the interests of quality per quantity. Those who do not have Mass celebrate a Liturgy of the Word.
There are two communities of sisters in Mivumoni, the Sisters of St Joseph and a new community of Franciscan sisters.
