The Sisters of St Joseph are an East African order (see Sisters of St Joseph) who follow a Benedictine Rule, working in education, health care and farming.
In Mivumoni, the sisters run the St Teresa Dispensary, providing essential healthcare to the local community - HIV/Aids, malaria, etc.
The Mivumoni community live in a house adjacent to the church.
The sisters' chapel is intimate, when they are joined by the Franciscan sisters and a few guests.
The sisters are very welcoming, especially to Winnie who was celebrating her birthday.
This sister is celebrating her golden jubilee (50 years a nun) - and just completed a hard day's work on the farm.
It's sometimes easy to think that nuns are different from the rest of us - and they are certainly special people - but they're human too, and take pleasure in sharing a memory like the rest of us.
